Blue Conscience is a marine conservation organisation based in St. Kitts and Nevis, working to bridge the gap between international ocean policy frameworks and practical, community-driven action.
From coral reefs to classrooms, from fisher livelihoods to marine science, Blue Conscience weaves a continuous thread of purpose to make sure conservation isn't just a policy commitment — it's something local communities are actively part of, every day.
Together, these initiatives create an empowered society dedicated to protecting marine ecosystems in St Kitts and Nevis.
Conservation
Blue Conscience delivers community-led marine conservation initiatives across St Kitts and Nevis, working to restore coastal ecosystems, protect marine biodiversity, and support sustainable livelihoods throughout the Caribbean. Our conservation work spans an ecosystem-based restoration approach, including sea urchin studies supporting natural reef recovery — alongside sustainable fishing practices, regular coastal cleanups, and direct involvement in expanding the St. Kitts & Nevis Marine Management Area (MMA).

As a formal partner in the tripartite 30x30 Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of St. Kitts & Nevis and Blue Marine Foundation, we're supporting the push toward the country’s first no-take zone, targeted for designation by the end of 2026 — driven in large part by local fishermen who want to see their own waters protected. Through these initiatives, Blue Conscience contributes directly to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14 – Life Below Water.

We acquire scientific data that supports marine conservation in St Kitts and Nevis and informs decision-makers through citizen science observations, marine ecosystem monitoring, and policy-relevant data collection and reporting.

Collaboration with international partners and regional research institutions
Through community beach cleanups, we contribute to marine-litter monitoring and data collection connected to PROMAR — the regional Prevention of Marine Litter in the Caribbean Sea project, implemented locally through Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.
Our research partnerships also extend to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, supporting marine science outreach and citizen science, and to the St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network on species-specific monitoring.
Through partnerships with organisations including Blue Marine Foundation, we help strengthen evidence-based conservation planning across St Kitts and Nevis, protecting coral reefs, seagrass habitats, and marine biodiversity for the long term
Education
We inspire the next generation of ocean advocates by delivering marine conservation education in St Kitts and Nevis at every age — from Ocean Science for Preschoolers at Blessings Daycare, through weekly in-school Ocean Science Programmes launching September 2026, to hands-on Ocean Science Camps during school holidays for children aged 5 to 14.
